The Bermuda Volleyball Association has announced the roster for the upcoming Eastern Caribbean Senior Men’s Championship.  The event is taking place in Antigua from July 6-10 with 8 countries participating including hosts Antigua and Barbuda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dutch St Maarten, Anguilla, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia and Bermuda.

The Bermuda Men recently participated in the US Open Championship in Orlando where they earned their best ever finish. Head Coach, Elisabeth Rae had this to say: “We are excited to participate in the upcoming ECVA event. We learned a lot from our recent trip to Orlando and we have been working hard in the gym to tweak a few aspects of our game.  Having the US Open as preparation will definitely give us an advantage going into the ECVA’s. But we know we will face some tough competition and every match will be hard fought.”

There have been a couple of roster changes from the US Open Championship. Bermuda will be without Middle Blockers Jadon Springer and Kaleb Hamilton, but have added Outside Hitter Mike Sakata and Libero Jake Roberts (recent winner of Dept of YSR National Junior Athlete Sponsorship), as well as Tyler Hurdle who is now available after playing for Queen’s University in the US.

Players continuing on to Antigua from the US Open include Kyle Hamilton, Ryan Davies, Brandon Sousa, Eron Woods, Tyler Siese, Jaden Malpas, Rob Saraiva and Tiago Ferreira.

Additional information and results will be posted throughout the tournament.
