This year’s referee certification was conducted over a two-evening period by Bill Bucci. His 20 plus years of experience, coupled with video scenarios and an in-depth journey through the FIVB rule book, equipped three new attendees and five current refs with valuable training.
The majority of attendees joining the BVA referee corps have a variety of volleyball experience and an enthusiasm to referee the game they love.
Currently there are 11 certified refs with 3 new refs in training. Of that 11 there is one level 3 ref and six level 2 refs. Those seeking certification come in at a level one.
The BVA indoor league is about to begin. Rest assured that the BVA certified referees that take the stand to ref are equipped and ready to facilitate fun and fair games. So wait for the whistle and enjoy the game.
